Music vs. Gun Violence

Ask: Chicago Ideas Week wanted to build an interactive website as a platform to bring awareness to the Gun Violence epidemic in Chicago.

Outcome: The website is an interactive music video experience where users could upload their own 20 second verses and be added to the main track. Well known Chicago artists, including Common and King Louie, produced an intro video and asked others to join in. Fans had the option to download the background track and upload their own video or use their webcam to create a video. All internally approved verses were then blended together to create a unique track that auto-played after each rap.
